Luke wrote Acts as a continuation of his gospel. In this book Luke recorded the growth of the early church after Jesus ascended to heaven. The first part of the book records the growth of the church in and around Jerusalem. Luke goes on to record the apostle Paul’s conversion and the spread of the gospel throughout the Roman world.

Christ

The People’s Bible Teachings is a series of books on all of the main doctrinal teachings of the Bible.  Following the pattern set by The People’s Bible series, these books are written especially for laypeople.  The authors of The People’s Bible Teachings are parish pastors and professors who have had years of experience teaching the Bible.

This book is a thorough study of what the Bible teaches about Jesus Christ.  By looking at Jesus through both the Old and New Testament Scriptures, this volume details the person of Christ (true God and true man), his humiliation and exaltation, his three-fold office (Prophet, Priest, and King), and his redemptive work, all in a language that’s easy to understand.  It demonstrates exactly who Christ is, helping believers develop a strong personal defense and disproving claims that Jesus was merely a prophet, a humanitarian, or even a fraud.
